The aim of the program is
– the acquaintance of the researcher with all the sources of the Greek and English law of the marine insurance
– distinction between the concepts of insurance, insurance contract and insurance policy. It also intends to highlight and analyze the data required to draw up a valid marine insurance contract
– highlighting the fundamental importance of the existence of the insurance interest for the valid drawing up of a marine insurance contract
– the definition of the risks covered by a basic marine insurance contract through the interpretation of the principle of universality of risks in the case of marine insurance
– the analysis of the concept and the nature of the guarantees, as well as the highlighting of their importance for the maritime insurance. In addition, it seeks to make clear their distinctions, as well as their content
– the definition of the basic and secondary obligations of the contracting parties in a marine insurance contract and the presentation of the consequences in case of non-compliance
– the presentation of the conditions for the establishment of the right to compensation after the occurrence of the insured risk in marine insurance
